About the Virtual Races & Challenges
Is the entry free?
Entry into the UTMB® Virtual Club is free.
How many times can I run to complete my Virtual Race or Challenge?
You can complete your chosen distance in one go or over several runs. There is no limit on the number of runs unless mentioned by the official rules.
The routes around my place are pretty flat. How can I compete?
If you cannot integrate elevation gain in your run, we will also take into account the kilometre-effort.
What does kilometer-effort mean?
For any gain of 100m in elevation, one kilometer is added to the distance of the route. For example, a race of 40 kilometers with 1300m of elevation will count for 53 kilometers-effort.
Can I register for several Virtual Races and Challenges at the same time?
You will be able to register for several Virtual Races or Challenges on https://virtual.utmb.world. However you can compete in only one Virtual Race or Challenge at the same time. You will be able to pause the other races on the platform until you are ready to complete them.
Technical questions
How do I prove that I really ran the distance and the elevation required?
The UTMB® Virtual Club digital platform will integrate a real-time ranking that will run from the opening date to the closing date of the Virtual Races. When you sync your Garmin, Suunto, Coros or Polar app or upload a GPX file, we will analyze your track. You will be able to follow your progression on your dashboard to see if you have completed your chosen Virtual Race or Challenge.
Can I participate without a GPS watch?
It is possible to track an activity and upload the GPX file from any tracking system or app. For example, Strava allows the user to record directly from the app and then export the file.
How do I record a track with my phone?
The best way is to use the Strava app, which will allow you to export the GPX file. To export the GPX file, navigate to one of your Activity pages and from the more (ellipses) menu, select "Export GPX". The file will then download to your computer with the file extension ".gpx". This file can then be uploaded to the UTMB® Virtual Club platform.

How do I upload my GPX track?
The GPS track has to be uploaded directly on the platform https://virtual.utmb.world, from the space ‘My Dashboard’.
Can I use the old Movescount app instead of the new Suunto one?
Runners equipped with a Suunto watch need to use the Suunto app. You won’t be able to sync your activities from the Movescount app on virtual.utmb.world.
I can't upload my GPX file because the file is too large. What can I do? The size of your GPX file cannot exceed 10mo. You can reduce your file size for free online at https://labs.easyblog.it/maps/gpx-simplify-optimizer/ or http://www.mygpsfiles.com/en/
