UTMB® Virtual Club

UTMB® GROUP organizes the UTMB® for the Planet project, some Virtual Races for trail runners from all over the world.

This is not a sporting competition but an individual and solidarity challenge to show resilience in the face of the health and economic crisis that is hitting outdoor events.

UTMB® for the Planet offers a series of Virtual Races on an original digital platform created for trail running. These Virtual Races are about solidarity, which means that there is no entry fee; however, each participant is invited to make a donation to our partner WWF France to protect the environment.

From July 20 to August 30, the following Virtual Races will be open to be completed over several runs or in one go.

  • The Virtual Race must be completed by walking/running (max speed of 22 km/h max) and outdoors.
  • The Virtual Race can be completed over several runs or in one go.

  • The ranking is calculated on the overall timing on the basis of the GPX tracks provided between the first run (start) and the last run (finish). Thus, runners who choose to complete the Virtual Race in one single run will be ahead of those who have completed the it in several runs.
  • In the event of a tie, the activity time (= time in motion) will be taken into consideration.

Those participating in the UTMB® Virtual 50, UTMB® Virtual 100 and UTMB® Virtual 170 Virtual Races will get the chance to win one entry to the corresponding race of the 2021 edition of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc. The winners will be selected via a lottery among all the participants but will in any case need to have their up to date qualifying points to take the start of this race.
